Hi,
Excuse my ignorance....
I have a 'standard' zebra finch male and from what I can tell a white (pied) zebra male (pretty confident it's male).
They are building a nest in the cane nest thing I bought, is that common or perhaps I've miss sexed the white?
I've had them for about three months.
Cheers
Shayne
nest making
Hi Shayne, if the ignoranced were blessed we'd all be saints. I Readily do not recall how to sex them. But mine were prolific breeders. They used cane nest for me witout issues. Only thing I had to keep eye on is keeping their (as well as other kinds) nails short, because they can get caught up in the cane nests. Hope you paired them right and get chicks. Kind Regards.

When I had Zebs...I don't ever recall 2 males building a nest so more likely you have a pair
Can you post a pic of them

They're both males sorry. Zebbies are that keen to breed that they've gone into building mode.

Thanks guys,
Confirmed my suspicions. Just curious about them making a nest.
Female fell victim to a pair of butcher birds a while back.
Will have to sort out some mates for them.
cheers
