Well after releasing this bird in a big moulting aviary yesterday she has settled in good.
Just based on alertness and vigour alone she is a stand out bird from the rest.
On another note after keeping a close eye on her on and off during today I have observed signs to say her eye sight isn't as good as most birds.
Her sight is only a issue in direct sunlight but with the design of the aviary her well being should be fine.
Sensitive eyes is a issue that is linked to red eyes but I have found reports that its not all doom with them saying birds with red eyes are showing less sensitivity through correct breeding.
Rich.

Worst case you make sure the avairy rooves are enclosed to slightly reduce the light. Glad things are going well.

This bird is doing well. It is a impressive size and is very active, very much the tomboy of the aviary.
I was pretty happy yesterday I managed to drag the wife into the aviary for a second opinion and although she isn't a crazy bird person like me I asked her to point out any bird that may appear to have red like eyes.
It only took a matter of seconds before she pointed out what I wanted to hear.
Also the bonus was when the wife pointed out this bird there was a very clean Oz yellow hen on one side and on the other side was a Euro yellow hen and with all 3 birds lined up you could clearly establish that the red that could be seen wasn't just reflecting off the back of the eye it was definitely present in this bird only.
Moving house's very soon so I'm not expecting a good year breeding but we will see how we go, fingers crossed.

Well this little beaut is doing fine....
She has the softest colours all over and has almost finished her moult.
The boys think she is alright as well displaying their feeling by dancing for her all the time and with the occasional flick of her tail I believe she will go to nest this season.
The red in her eye is still lingering but by no means would you call it a Lutino but when she is out in the sun with the rest of the birds she clearly has a colour in her eye that no other bird in the aviary does.
Bit of a dodgy picture but you can still see the eye isn't the normal colour.

Congratulations Blue Cuban, proud of you.
And if I can reproduce or improve this bird I'll happily take the honours in naming it...

You might like to take a look at pics of the way the eyes and colouring look on Fallow budgies. There is some similarity. And hip hip hooray that your girl looks like she may breed for you this season.
