I saw a couple of male red headed gouldians the other day that looked perfectly normal except the black around the face/head was missing altogether.
The red just went straight to the blue color, the bird was not plucked and was in good feather.
does anyone know if this is a known mutation?

I am helping a guy up at dads and I have got his Yellow heads to point in the cocks of just having a thin black line on the back of the head and with the hens a couple you would think are cock birds with the amount of Yellow on the head. So I would say its not a mutation I would just be breeding for that look.

They could be single factor Euro yellows? Or as AMCA says some have been bred to have more blue and less black, just be preference selection by breeders.
