I am from Pretoria in South Africa and is a keen finch enthusiast wanting to learn more from you guys. I keep mainly Australian and African finches, including grass finches, star finches, Bechino, chestnut manniken, purple grenadier, Gordon Blue and Bluecaps.

How much do Purple Grens cost in SA ? Here they sell for $2000 a pair & I read about a bloke who bought 2 pair & they all died in the first month.

The purple grenadiers are selling for about R 1000 or 100 A$ a pair - we can still import from Africa which makes it relatively cheap.
