At last my Chaffinches have got their act together after their first nest did not produce any young. What I have noticed this time is that
both parents are feeding the young,I didn't notice that last year,I've seen him waiting outside the nest until the hen has fed then he goes in.
They are taking mainly live food in the way of mealworms and maggots with the mealies being topped up 2-3 times a day,the hen tends to take
mainly maggots but the cock, mealworms. Will try to get a photo in the next few days.

Thanks for the update.
There is not enough of these little birds available and its dedication like you seem to have that is keeping them going.
They are on my list for next after I build a new aviary. Unless I can get my hands on some linnets which apparently exist still at 2k a pair.

Yes Guy they are in with other birds,in fact there are 24 spiecies in the same aviary, they do take crickets but having bred them on maggots and mealies
before I'll give the crickets a miss, besides the Weavers would probably clean them up first.
