what size leg ring do you use for each species of finch?

I use the same for all mine, just normal plastic finch rings. (helpful aren't I?? )

I have birds ranging from orange breasts to longtails and zebbies and no probs.

Of course, i do use budgie rings for my King Quails, but that's not relevant

I use the split coloured plastic on all the birds. They are all the same size and yet some birds are very adept at loosing them, like my emblema hen, she needs her third at the moment and others that I may have expected the rings to fall off like the orange breasts are fine.

I use the small finch ones from chapmans on all my aussie finches, size AS, This is what they recomend.

Size AS recomended for Waxbill,orange breast,cordon,double bar,zebra gouldian parrot and star finch.

Size AL is for bengos, chestnut,cut throat,diamond and canaries.So they recomend.

I only have a 2007 cataloge here.So not much point putting any other info on.Ill leave that for you Mick .

In the Australian Aviculture the guide is 2.00mm for the smaller finches and 2.5mm for the larger finches $4 per set of 10.
