Permethrin, the active ingredient in Coopex, is safe to use around dogs and puppies environment. That is it safe to use on bedding , grass etc.

It is NOT recommended to be sprayed directly on to puppies or small dogs.

Permethrin should not be used on Cats as they are hyper sensitive to Permethrin.

Note that the active ingredient in Woolies Home brand Ant Killer is Permethrin but at less concentration than Coopex but more bang for buck.

Hope that helps.

Vinegar for fleas, here you are Sam

Directly protect against fleas and ticks

To give your dog effective flea and tick protection, fill a spray bottle with equal parts water and vinegar and apply it directly to the dog’s coat and rub it in well. You may have more trouble doing this with cats, because they really hate the smell of the stuff.

How did the mixture work out for you SamDavis? Or have you tried it? It keeps the bugs out of my grass. I namely use it after it rains, and weekly in my dogs excersize areas. Also in my walking areas when my ankles get ate up by whatever, or the insects take off flying out of the grass as you walk. Just wondering, if it worked for you?

Here's a pic of how it works for me. Note the dark green circle in the grass around the wood post. It's the area an excerise pen for four dogs was placed. The only brown area is were a little dog house sat.

Note: urine = amonia = nitrogen. The mixture dilutes the areas urinated on. And the only brown spots is usually where folks leave dog feces sit. The good ole pooper scooper, keeps it up off the grass.

I rotate pen to let area where little dog house sits to recover.
