I have 3 young gouldians from the same nest who did not fledge until late October, all 3 of them have only partially coloured as shown in this picture.
I am wondering if they were bred too late for this year and will colour with next years young or if I can still expect them to colour this year?
Cheers

I have no experience, in the matter, but i'll say that by the looks of the youngster, it'll slowly colour up during the year, and be ready before next years clutch.

They should slowly colour up as the year progresses,And wont have 100% adult plumage untill thier yearly moult. They could possibly breed if allowed to before then.

A guy that I get Gouldians from has had them breed when they weren't though the moult. The bird was breed late in the year and went to nest late the following year, prior to the full moult.
