First off, I have four Society Finches.... started off with two, quickly fell in love, got two more. Still new, had them less then a year. Now I have eggs! I have been lucky and got two male-female pairs (one pair is chocolate-white - one crested - and the other pair is white-fawn). I am searching for advice and help in my Finches first time breeding. Also looking to just get more information and get more knowledgeable on them. I just have so many questions haha and I have books that just are NOT giving me the answers I need.

Hi Courtney and welcome to Aussie Finch Forum.
If you have a look at Aussie Bengos this site is dedicated
to the Bengalese Mannikin AKA the Society Finch,I'm sure
they will answer any question you can throw a them.

Welcome to the forum. Don;t know what you do and do not know so. They are a very easy bird to breed if you definately have some of each sex. Have you seen your boys do the mating dance/song routine? I love watching mine get all wound up. Chocolate is dominant over Fawn as far as colour is concerned. So any chocolate babies have to have a chocolate parent. But fawn young can have fawn or chocolate parents because chocolate can be carrying fawn genes. Enjoy.
