1: Currently there's no warning, but I'm looking at adding a "compatibility" checker that will warn about bird relatedness.
2: I've already been working on an "event logging" feature similar to what you're describing.

Shane I have just been adding my new babies Up to 9 alive in my first year so very happy.
I have added photos of the new birds and noticed that you allow only one photo per bird.
Would it be of interest to other users to have a photo of the bird fledged and then another in full colour. This I would think help with future fledglings to not only gauge what a new bird will look like but also be part of the birds history. Eg a hen with all her chicks for a hatching or a new pairing.
I am only new to this bird thing but have had many years of computer experience mainly in the implementation and testing regimes so I might be getting too picky.
Regards
Brian

I want multiple images too, but I don't think it will happen. I know it seems like such a simple thing, but it would require making huge changes to the data structure and the various data storage and access mechanisms. I re-used a lot of code from previous project, code which unfortunately was never designed for handling images; let alone an arbitrary number of them.

Will be interested when you have an event option.
My Aviary is a bit small to require a management system but may purchase a copy just so I can watch the developement as I feel it is zsnot fair on yu tobe given advise orsuggestion when I only have the old free version.
Keep up the good work and expand as you get the time and the option to add new features. This is something that should happen with software as there is always new options requestedand better ways to achieve things as you progress.

Shane, the current version lists all the birds in specific aviaries, could you consider possibly being able to produce a list of all birds of a selected species showing which aviaries they are in?

Would you believe me if I said I was already working on it? :)

Great minds think alike, has been said before. But obviously applies here.
