vettepilot-6 is correct in directing you to a supplier selling thin walled rings.
I also get mine from Allan Tully ([email protected]) he imports Hughes rings from the UK.
Some of the garbage offered on EBay is wrong, they are made from cheap thick walled material and are too
bulky in my opinion for the finches. The bigger the ring the greater chance of getting caught up and also not great
when the birds are incubating.
The only thing good about those rings is their price but you get what you pay for.

All of the finch clubs have trade tables that sell plastic (thin walled) split rings.
I agree with E Orix though. Spend some money and get good quality rings from the manufacturers.
The Thick walled stuff on e bay is rubbish, must be 5 times the weight for the poor bird to carry and just too bulky.

Couldn't agree more. When I see the crafty beads, etc. used for bird rings to save a few cents per ring I shudder. Huge hazard for getting legs stuck in inopportune places.

I just purchased 100 AS leg rings from Lentra Direct in 10 different colours, thin walled and light weight. They come on a stick and you break them off.
Pretty sure they come from around your area, google Lentra Direct. Craig

Bill Kidd makes decent quality, cheap, thin aluminium split finch rings in 2 sizes (small - Ruddy, etc & Large - Gouldian ,etc) & various colours.
He is in Cessnock, Hunter Valley & posts them out. I'll see if I can dig out his number.

If you want his number, Pm me - I'm reluctant to put the poor old bloke's number on a public forum. pls also ring at a decent hour.
