I have been slack this season, no boxes etc etc, just dried bush. Have plenty of gould chicks but one has a small white feather on on its head. I have seen references to similar in other posts. Does this mean anything?
Ken.
White spot.

You have your favourite choice of mutation Ken
Now you will have to get rid of that batch of gouldians and start a fresh again.
But in saying that it might not be anything just a white feather or the beginning of a pied.

It could just be an innocent white feather.

Which is why I said possibly. Don;t chuck the baby out yet with it's whole family. Wait and watch. If the feather is still there after the moult you almost certainly have Aussie yellow blood. This is a beautiful pied mutation, hence the birds that are yellow and those that only have a feather or toe that is white or yellow.
