I have red cheeked cordons and the hen is sitting for the first time since I got them back in Sept. Not having had these birds breed before can someone tell me what I can expect i.e. how long will they sit and how long before they fledge. looks like they have 4 or 5 eggs but I don't want to disturb them too much to check, and it is a bit difficult seeing into the wicker nest the way they have built it.

about 14 - 16 days on average for the eggs to hatch.
I learnt the hard way with rccb's not to do nest inspections. they will abandon for the smallest reason
make sure you have plenty of live food ready as this will be the main part of the diet once any eggs hatch
good luck with them
