Hi all, after a 35 year break from finches I have returned, I have been racing pigeons for the last 14 years in the Shoalhaven, have 1 aviary 8mX2.4X2.6, with 2.4X2.4 closed in at one end, limited sunlight due to surrounding trees will be a draw back. Have a mixed collection, 2pr diamonds, 2pr double bars, 1pr Cubans, 1pr RC cordons, 1pr red brow, 1pr St Helena, 1pr red faced parrot finch, 1pr orange breast, cock crimson.

Welcome to the forum, Sully. Sounds like you have a great aviary with a nice (and diverse) collection of birds. I'd love to see some photos.

Just curious, because you have Cubans and Orange breasteds in the same avairy. And people (myself included) have varing experience with keeping these two together. I did it for many years with peace and harmony. Lost a Cuban male, got a new one. Murder and mayhem. Never touched the Orange Breasted, just hounded him to death. So watch carefully. Personal experience is 2 out of 3 Cuban cocks are little sweethearts who just rule the roost. But the 3rd rules the roost and will not tolerate similar colour/size male birds.
