Thanks for clarification. Need to read a little slower. I definately will get a cattle dog and see whats on offer. canberra Finch Club sale is on this weekend coming so I might see whats there so I have a base to work from.

Is there a gadget for putting the aluminum leg rings on? How much are they?

I dont know much about the finch aluminium rings, if the are split or solid.But with the parrot rings you can buy a aplicator for around $40.We use a home made one made from pointy nose pliers.
