Just for anyone interested this is Windemere Dam sittting at 6% capacity (sad hey ) more a puddle than a dam these days .
Shows what a country of extremes we live in , Qld has water up to the yazoo while NSW dries up . As the song goes " this is autralia " ;)

If it were oil or gas and there was big $$$ in it Im sure they would find a way .....sadly most the rain weve been getting has been falling in the Murray Darling catchment area , great for the Murray which badly needs flushing anyhoo least its raining .

The wheels of government grind exceedingly slowly......they first started talking about piping it down in the 1800's I believe and put it aside as it was too expensive! How expensive will it be now?

You should complain, we are having the driest and hottest summer since the early '50s and I'm pleased to say I am toooo young to have been around then. :D One of our pollies has been trying to get a pipeline from the northwest down through the state for years but no go. One of these days he may be seen as a visionary instead of a nutter. If we had loverly puddles like that and that green stuff (memory says its called grass) we would be happy vegemites. No wonder the birds are not breeding yet they think the wet is not coming this year.

Can relate ...the green stuff is relatively new for many years its been red / brown dusty stuff , weve had rain enough to green things up but the puddle remains a puddle.
