Hey i see there is alot of interest for wild Zebra finches and i was just wondering how i would go about getting a pair. I am not looking to trap because its illegal but would like to eventually get my hands on a pair. My last four i had selected only because they were normal colour but no doubt had splits any way sold them to buy more lovebirds. Even with other birds like budgies and Teils i only like the normal wild type birds don't ask me why but i see them alot on our property and would prefer them over most rare mutations. So yer just wondering where i would get them from in the future like a few years away, i think i saw someone advertising them in Townsville some months ago and where would they get them from? Would they have trapped them or got them from a sanctuary?
Thanks for your help also my admin thing is on Zebra how many posts until i move onto the next species?

If you search for South East Qld Zebra Finch Society and go in to their website you will get contacts of Qld Zeb breeders. There are still some pure lines in breeders aviaries. They have obviously moved on. A bit from the wild greys. Different feeding, selection and shelter will increase size etc.
