At least George and Isabel are actual Zebra Finch mutations. Australian Yellow v European Blue is just a mutation combo. It is just an Australian Yellow Blue or a Blue Australian Yellow, take your pick. Either way everyone knows what you're talking about. It can't be an Australian Blue because that name needs to be reserved in case someone breeds one plus a lot of people call Turquoise Blue the Australian Blue because it is the true Australian Blue. It must be close to 10 years ago since a Blue Gouldian breeder from Sydney called Allan Simpson (I hope I spelt his name correctly) crossed all his Blue Goudians to Australian Yellows. It was a bird of Allan's that was pictured in Dr. Rob Marshall's brochure. So Les Hardman was closer to last than first to breed the combo. Les giving the combo a fancy name is obviously a publicity stunt aimed at trying to sell for top dollar a mutation combo that has not been very popular. However, judging by the posts on here, I get the feeling that the new fancy name will never get used. Peter Bradbury

Hi Peter, it's not the fact that this mutation is unpopular it is/was extremely hard to get them past hatching stage let alone get them on the perch. A lot of breeders just give up when they have their holding cages full of splits and try to sell them off as split blues and split AY's or dump them in dealers or pet shops. That's a shame Craig. I just meant that the Blue x Australian Yellow combo was expected to produce a very spectacular bird but the end result was not quite as was initially hoped. Hey, I haven't seen you since Finches 08! Pete

Your right there Stuart alot of Peach faces have a couple of names and which are mainly wrong as people need to follow the one name for instance aqua turquoise and seagreen are the same mutation but Aqua turquoise is the correct name so there fore should be used and i can list a few of those of the top of my head. But i won't be adding that rubbish in the count one name per mutation other wise it would double up.
