How many clutches in one season?

Hi folks may be a good problem, not sure. I have a pair of yellow siskins that had 2 young from one clutch last season . So far this season clutch 1 reared two young back in November. Second clutch and four young all ok. Clutch three and two more out of the nest a few weeks ago. Well she is now on another four eggs, three of which look fertile. I can recall hearing something about too many clutches in one season not being ideal for the hen She looks fit and healthy, the male is doing his part and even my lonely male red Siskin (lost his hen a few weeks ago) is even helping rear the young. Should I be concerned? Or let them go? Last season they bred till March so at this rate she could rear two or three more clutches if I let her. Thoughts?

Imo if she/he is fit and healthy let them go, they will stop when they are ready to. You have certainly got a pr of keepers there. As far as the red cock,he is making life so easy for your yellows and is probably why they continue to nest. I don't think you have to worry about the two hybridising as the yellows are a mated pr but hard to understand that there isn't any aggression between the two cocks

Thanks Craig, keepers for sure. Cocks have an occasional disagreement, but never too serious. Generally they all seem to get along. Hopefully I can find the red a hen soon so he wont be tempted to stray. I'll attach a pic with some goldfinch chicks also reared in the same aviary. Never had a clutch of three goldies before so pretty chuffed about that as well.
