I've had a marked increase in red backs this year too. They don't scare me, but this morning when I opened up a nest box, a bloody big huntsman came running out. Scared the crap out of me.

thankfully I dont have any hassles with spiders in the aviaries.
once a month I spray my aviaries (walls, roof and plants) with coopex.
there are a couple of places i dont spray, try and keep a few daddy long legs in the aviaries as the st helenas enjoy eating them.

Hi Gary, good one, will take some with me next time back to work so i can harden up. ya safe in WA for now maaate. hey Kevin,had to charm 4 in the end, the one in the bathroom was interesting, station owner reckons get a few there, might have to shift camp no red backs though.

You could try that muscat that you drink on those spiders, probably the snakes too. Speaking from experience I think once those critters have had a taste of it they won't want another.
