Yesterday I attended my skin specialist for my six monthly checkup. I normally go and and are either referred for more surgery or weigh a tiny bit less with numerous stitches. The appointment was good, no surgery, a bit of freezing though on the scone. Ouch! Anyhow prescribed me a new ointment for a skin condition. Dearer than the usual ointment which I have been on for the past 5 years or so. $55 for a 30 gm tube. She told me it was a new way to deal with things but can only be used for 4 months. I said, "Okay, I'll give it a try, see how it goes." Anyhow off to the chemist, hand over the prescription, do some shopping then pick up the script. Troddle off home, have morning tea then look at the goods. It is called "Soolantra", it contains 10mgm of IVERMECTIN to 1gm of the ointment. Maybe I could have self treated with my bird medication.....no not really.
The thing is this, I have been reading this forum for many years and have seen the betadine and other things used and even the other week saw Chlorsig being used. I have used that for years on recommendations from my surgeons as a wonderful broad spectrum antibiotics for wounds after surgery and even use it my self for small cuts, abrasions to help with healing.
Anyhow, Soolantra is prescription only but gee maybe in the future we could also use it. It is a light cream easily spread.
Anyhow, as the title suggests, when I dose the little ones with moxydectin plus I will feel a little bit of affinity.
Ken.
Now I feel like a bird!
