Just checked it out Gary. They have really cut back on cage size. Mine are a bit longer 250mm and previously I have had sometimes a pr in each compartment but upto 5 to 6 birds in a few out of 16 compartments then moved them around once Ive sold a few.

Overcrowded cages will NOT be accepted
.
When
on the perch birds must have head and tail clear
of the top and floor, the total width of all birds
must not exceed 60% of the total perch length.
If more birds than the
listed number are to be
placed in a cage it is recommended that the
width
or depth
is
increased by 50% depending
up
on the
direction of the perch
for each multiple of the
recommended number of birds
.

Are they going to worry about 15mm height ? that could be measured in the timber thickness. Looks like your stocking rate is pretty good too just over 4 finches if you could use your existing cages.garyh wrote: 22 Apr 2017, 13:14 Cage sizes are 185 h,350 w,135 d,usually about 5 gouldians per cage, garyh
VAC Rate. Height .2x Width .2 x Depth .1 = .004 = 2 finches

Talked to someone today so all should be good when selling, what i would like to know is who makes these rules ,as a member of the Australian Aviculture Society i have never once been asked my thoughts on any matter concerning the welfare of birds, never filled out a questionnaire but im continually told by a higher authority that i must abide by these rules, who is this person or people,if i dont like the priminister at least i have a choice of voting against him or her and voicing a opinion,in this case it seems to be do as i say
