Hi I have some avimec (ivermectin) on the package it states 1 drop weekly for 3 weeks is this the right regime on other posts I have already worked out that it needs to be diluted with alcohol and when fished I might buy moxie tin plus but for now should I dose them weekly for 3 weeks ? I think this regime maybe for air sac mites should worming with ivermectin be a single dose every 3 to 4 months i'm pretty sure they have worms thanks

So the day after worming the birds have bathed themselves should the ivermectin be adsorbed into their system or should I dose them once weekly for 3 weeks or just the single dose thanks in advance for your advice

I think you have done enough, goudians aren't really prone to worms as they don't eat many insects that carry worm eggs. Gouldians will get coccidia if the weather has changed and rain is entering the aviary or the floor is wet constantly from bathing.
Maybe give them a dose of Baycox, 3ml to the litre of water given for 3 days. Craig

No worries tks so I sent 3 messages might think I'm a fool how often do I treat with Baycox ?

Coccidiosis is more pron during long periods of rain or constant wet floors, it can't survive long in hot dry conditions so dose during inclement weather conditions every 3 to 6 months but only if you think your birds look sick. But if your aviary is clean and dry you shouldn't have problems with coccidiosis.

Hi Craig I was trying to find your post about 3ml to 1 litre for Baycox and 5ml of moxi plus what sweetener do I add red cordial? The avian vet nurse said Baycox for 5 days if infected is 3 days enough? And do I repeat dose of both in 14 days or just do it every 3 months ? Thanks tony

Hi Tony, most breeders worm their birds twice a year, usually a month before the breeding season then after the season which works out around six month cycle.
Baycox for coccidia should be used when your birds look ill during wet weather for three days only, if they still look sick dose again for three days.
A fourteen day follow up with moxi plus is a good idea for killing worms that have hatched from eggs which eggs of worms don't get effected by the medication only the worms do.
My birds drink medicated water without sweetening but raspberry cordial would be fine Cheers Craig
