Happy easter all , cannot believe how quiet it is here at the moment ...no mowers , whipper snippers or noise coming from the nearby industrial site even the freight trains have stopped running .
Only noise so far has been the neighbours wife joining in on his mid life crisis by learning to ride his Harley around the block , this is noise I can handle anyhoo have a great day all.

I was very good, no chocolate. :o Just hanging out with the offspring. :D
Unfortunately, came home to find that something had persumably attacked the RH Gouldian cock in the main avairy, as his right wing is hanging. Caught him, no sign of damage and observation shows he is eating and drinking, just can't fly up to the perchs. So have put some more in down low and will cross fingers and keep an eye on him, hopefully will mend quickly as they had been showing considerable interest in nesting. :(

No not really. But have had butcher birds and currawongs and the greenies try to get my finches through the sides of the avairys at various times in the past. And greenies only go for yellow/green birds, but try to do eyes or spear. But probably one of the bigger birdie predators to put the wing out. A hawk would have succeeded completely or failed completely. Those others can grab a bird and put the wing out while the intended victim pulls away, cause the idiots will insist on sitting on the south side wire which faces the bush. Not sure if the neighbours intention to strata title will be a curse or a blessing. Cats are stumped cause they can't reach from the roof which is fully covered in plastic. Oh well he coped fine with last nights slightly cooler all night rain. Yes it rained all night, a real change after so long without rain. At worst if he does not recover I will have to build (or con the old man into building) a cage just for him and his mate with perches at managable distances, and a nest he can reach.
