I'm Damian from Mudgee.
Have not kept any birds since leaving home 22 years ago.
Bread budgies and Zebras. Have kept many Parrats sp. My favourite of all was a Chicken Hawk I hand raised, awesome bird, would walk down the shops on my sholder, was always free to come and go.
Any way, I dought I will ever have a similar experience, however I now have kids of my own and are going to set up a finch aviary for them to experience.
At this stage I am still researching to see how things have changed, get ideas on the breads I would like to keep and tips on setting up cage to suit.
Any way, Hi all !!!

Thanks Gomer, the aviary will be a display at the end of a BBQ padio area, will be looking for a few compatable species of finch/softbills. No breading in this one, may be further down the track in other aviarys.
Where can I find info on which do/do not require permits?

I have heard this so many timesDamian wrote:Have not kept any birds since leaving home 22 years ago.

Good luck getting back into birds - the hobby has exploded in that time and the number and variety of birds available is now amazing!
