I have a small aviary 2.7 x 1.8 with a pair of cordons and in a cage 120cm x 46cm another pair, in the non breeding season (winter) I would like to give the cabinet pair some free flight and put the two pair together in the aviary. Could this be done safely without one male killing the other, would putting both males in a neutral cabinet before letting them go in the aviary help ? thanks

I wouldn't trust them...why not put ones in cabinet in aviary and visa versa?

Cordons don't regard winter as the non breeding season. They will often/usually breed right through winter.
They may be ok together but you would be introducing a pair into the established breeding territory of the other pair so a problem is very likely.
