maby ill get something different to put in with them.
anyone got any ideas of what other pair i could put in with the ruddy that are fairly easy to get in qld or get posted to me lol.
i read that the yellow ring around the eye on my ruddy can indicate the age?? the brighter yellow the older the bird?? sound right?
ive had the par in their for a week lots of nestsing materials and sesting sights should tthey be showing any signs of making roosting nests or anything?
cheers ben

Quite a few people breed Gouldians in single pairs in smaller cages (e.g. too small to walk in) so they could suit your purposes.
As for showing an interest in nesting, can take anything from 24 hours to 24 months and be perfectly normal. Bit like people really some are real kean and some are shy and ease into it.

I found them to be fine in a mixed aviary, I have a pair of BHWH's at the moment.
However, watch the price. some are MUCH more expensive than others for basically the same birds!
