The quality of seed can differ so much.
The cheapest may not be the best. It would be reasonable to say if the merchant sells alot of seed then his turn over should mean fresher grain.
When last at Orange Bird Sale there was a person selling seed quite cheaply and it looked good fresh clean grain.
I didn't enquire further as I have purchasd mine from the same grower/supplier for many years.
There are 3 of us who buy at the same time so we share freight costs and order 3 times a year.
We get 28 x 40kg bags to a pallet of mixed Budgie/Finch ,exyard is around $40 per bag, delivered here $50 per bag (200km)
The supplier is at Leeton southern NSW and will freight. M Douglas
If you want his phone number let me know.

Gilbertson fodder store in Adelaide ,costs about $7 a bag to have transported 500klm good seed and reasonably priced. I buy 5 differant seeds and make my own mix and add a few other seed to this. Did try Birds R Us premium finch mix was to expensive by the time i had it frieghted and was not over clean.

Maybe we should post pricing, and amount bought, as well in the future to give others a gauge on pricing at the time when bought. As we know the price fluctuates during the year.According to harvest and wholesale stock.
