Have had 33 fledge from 4 breeding pairs, with another nest with week old chicks.
Nice to get 5 blues to the perch, hopefully all make it through to the moult.
Bred 3 blues last season, but sadly lost 2 of them earlier this year - my one blue hen still good, though didn't pair with anyone this season.
Also my Painted finches appear to be on the nest - first time breeding for this pair and me.
Pretty happy with this season

That's a great effort. Shame about the blues, hope they do better for you going forward. Be great to see their availability in SA improve.Birdy43 wrote: 31 Jul 2018, 22:28 Have had 33 fledge from 4 breeding pairs, with another nest with week old chicks.

I live in Ipswich, QLD and have had another good season. I specialise in maintaining a stock of normal gouldians rather than mutations and have about 140 - 150 birds all up. I've started removing breeding boxes as fledglings come out to stop them breeding as the aviaries have become overstocked. I'll need to sell a lot of birds before I can ever put nests back in next season.
