Late post but I went to the Murray Bridge Sale last Saturday. It was a great day, with heaps of tables and lots of Birds.

The prices, were interesting and there were some bargains to be had if you have the patients ;) As I had just finished my garden aviary I was keen to secure some Colour for the flight . I ended up with the following,

1 male Red face Parrot finch , 1 Male Cordon , 2 RH WF Male Gouldians , 1 RH PF Male Gouldian, 1 Male Orange Breast, 1 Double Bar, 1 Pair of Stars , 1Pair of Chestnuts.

Really wanted to get a pair of Double bars, but only two people were selling them and they only had a couple each. The price was $60 a pair, which I thought was a bit steep. I ended up paying $20 for 1 lone bird in the end.

Anyway it was a real eye opener for me and I had a great time :) :) :)

A friend that attends the club said they had 50-55 tables paid for. Lots of parrot's also by the way.

The dominant birds across the board, were Gouldians, Orange breasts, Stars, a few Red face parrot finches, a few singers, etc etc. Too many birds to remember and lack of sleep make it hard also :D Good day was the bottom line ;)

I bought those $60 Double Bars.
I've been wanting a pair for some time.
It was a bit steep but I had been hesitant at other sales and missed out.
So I paid. It was birthday money so I talked myself into it, that it was ok.
Anything I say. What a wonderful philosophy you have.

That's about an average price for Double Bars round here. Just go's to show, one persons expensive bird is anothers bargain, all depends where you are and what's available. Hope you are able to get some more soon, they really are a flock bird.

Well done on the buy. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much at the time. Hench I ended up with a spare male. Although the bloke that sold it wasn't confident that it was a male :) :)

Anyway hope they breed and let me know, as I am looking for a mate for my one bird :D
