Ive done what framed has done , due to ill health and 3 ops in 1 year Ive had to reduce numbers and concentrate on just a few birds , Emblemas are firing away and my neophemas are going well ....
just a thought though ...Ive had more success since Ive not been hovering around the aviaries always changing thing and generally annoying the birds , more often just enjoying the birds with a coffee or a book from outside the box .
Breeding aside its been a good year with all birds happy ( I hope ) and healthy .
its a good year

they keep coming, hello all,i dont mean to boast but im so happy with my birds, the best breeding in years for me.with 11 fledged, and another 8 chirping away.so close to 20,and there going for round 2, the two key things i have learnt, draft free and lots of sprouted seed.my black hearts soso, they threw out 3 babies, while i was away, bugger.but in a nest there are 2 that should be out this week i have 4 pair of gouldians. such a nice feeling.

Got to say it's been a great year here in Port Kennedy too, Paul 1966. I've had 20 gouldians fledge so far with another 6 in the nest and 2 others with eggs also. African Fires, Red Painteds, Black Hearts and Bengalese fledge and my Orange Breasts are sitting on eggs. Though in the past i have had a lot of dissapointment with babies been thrown out of their nests. So i am very pleased.

And W.A.'s going to have another pretty dry year. Just lost my older RH hen and mum has lost 2 RH hens, mine sickened and died hers, one found dead on a nest of eggs one silly B decided for reasons unknown to squirm in between the nest box and wall and get stuck. But at least her RH WB GB hen who has distained to nest the last couple of years got inspired at the sight of that nice OH cock Chris lined up and has 3 very nice fledglings with him.

My year so far hasnt been as good as last year, but things are looking up.
4 emblema chicks out and about and momma is back in the nest.
3 goldbreast chick just starting to colour up
4 gouldian chicks out and about, still being fed by dad
2 blue faced parrot finch chicks, only a few days old
1 cabinet bred gouldian chick with first time parents.
and more eggs from several different pairs to go
