Since seeing mike filders small seed hoppers for his fostering cages iv being trying to chase some up. with not my luck. By chance i was on a yahoo forum where a member posted picks of his gouldian cage and in that pick he had a small cage seed hopper, which is somthing i would like to try with my gouldian breeding cages,

the seed hopper is in the bottom right corner of the pic, anyone else seen these before?

the only other place i have seen them was in one or 2 of the lastest Just Finches magazines!! on somones breeding cages.

i asked the guy on the forum where he got them from and he said birds r us. so iv emailed them, just waiting on a reply for price and postage, hopefully there not flimsy as some of the seed hoppers iv had in the past.

thought id post about it, just incase anyone else was lookin for these small seed hoppers

Jarryd :)

Yeh they seem to be good so far, u do need to have a few in a cage cause only one bird can eat from it on one hopper.

I have ordered 6 of these for my budgie breeding cages. I'll let you know what I think of them when they arrive. I currently use mason jar feeders and while they hold a lot of seed, the budgies are little pigs and tend to flick all the seed out of the jar. By the end of the week, all the seed is on the cage floor and of course it has to be thrown out because it is soiled. A huge waste. Hopefully these hoppers will stop the flicking behaviour.
