Hi all,
I am thinking about getting into finch keeping in the next year or so.
I am thinking of starting with a planted aviary 3m by 2m by 2m.
I am currently living in Canberra.
What native species would be suited for this aviary?

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Gouldians, emblema finches, star finches and double-barred finches are all Aussie natives that are very forgiving to beginners.

If you're a first time finch keeper, Zebra Finches and Bengalese Finches are easiest - they are extremely easy to take care of (much easier than most others) and if you want them to breed, they breed well.
Also, welcome to the forum!
Thanks,
Aidan

Welcome to the forum, good size avairy for a start. Too cold in your part of the country for my taste. Make sure the avairy is well protected from cold winds. Enjoy
