The crop more than likely would have been sprayed with a selective herbicide to rid weeds. Glyphosate (Round up) is a knockdown herbicide which would kill not only the weeds but the crop as well. so I doubt it is an issue. Secondly the crop would not be at seed head stage, so where only talking about the plant foliage which the birds don`t consume
