Hello! I am a new bird owner with an orange headed, rainbow finch called Mercury. I was offered Mercury as a pet friend, however I now understand that they are kept more for breeding than to build a relationship like other birds. Still, I love Mercury and I wish to make him happy. Any tips? Thank you!

Pretty sure it's a gouldian finch but that post was back in February fb.

Yes - I found another post that confirmed it was a Gouldian.
Wondered what had happened as he had not been answered.
