The recessive australian yellow split birds usually will have a white chin but they will also generally have a small patch of yellow on the back of the head which this bird does not have. I would most definately be pairing this bird back to his mother to see what pops up.

check out one finchers pics of his birds . its used as his avitar , it has the same white bib and is a split bird.....heres a link to pic of me finches maily pied stars and pied cordons the heavy pied cordon is a freind but i took the pic just started the album but will get more pics up soon of me other finches i have
