had a masked grassfinch fledgling waiting for me this morning when i went out to feed my birds. as soon as i walked in the door it left its perch and flew straight into me haha. managed to grab it and give it a quick health check but it was in no hurry to get away. sat on my finger for a few minutes with mum sitting a foot away without making a sound.
i dont know where exactly these birds came from (got the from a bird store), but this particular hen is the friendliest finch ive ever had, and all her young (this is her second ever nest, first had 5 young, this has at least 4) have been just as tame when they first fledge. i love little surprises like this.

nah just the normal masks. might get into some more mutations once this lot of birds is up and going. diamonds (4 pairs in a colony) havent been very successful yet
about 5 nests from 1 pair and no fledglings! the other 3 pair are either on nests or building at the moment though. hopefully someone will succeed and the rest will get the idea haha. seems to be a common problem though...
