Just before the queens birthday long weekend i noticed 3 eggs in one nest from my zebbies and have just noticed 3 more in another nest. Just wondering how long it takes for the eggs to hatch if fertile and is there a way to tell if they are fertile or not.

The inmcubation period is 12-16 days soon the eggs may not befertile.

14 days after last egg laid. You can candle eggs but I prefer not to disturb any nest. The eggs will get a grey color to them if no good.

Ok so we are coming up to 14 days now roughly and the eggs are still pristine white.
I would have thought that they would sit on the eggs most of the time but majority of the time they are out of the nest and mainly at night i see them ( im at work during the day) in the nest. Being winter i would also want to be in the nest rather than out.
So would they spend a lot of time on the eggs during incubation.
And not as much if they were infertile?

If they are setting they will determine when they sit and when not to.Birds will sit on clear eggs if you are sure when eggs were laid give them a week after term and remove the eggs to promote them to go back to nest. If they are young birds there is a fair chance first eggs are clear.
