My mini mealworm culture has become infected with mites, how do I get rid of them and will the mites affect the finches if I feed the worms to them? Any help appreciated, thanks.

If you can give me a little more info it would help.
What are you breeding them in firstly.
If the humidity gets too high you will get a mite explosion which looks like moveing dust.
If you use an old refrig cabinet or plastic box that has poor ventilation the mites can take over.
Mealworms like a dry heat of around 28c
generally the main pest are the flour moths and they generally arrive in the bags of Bran or Pollard.
