Hi

I have mentioned these movies before. Around the aviaries whereby they filmed Aviary Tours and each owner gave a run down of their setup, birds, breeding ideas and nutrition etc....

I woud kill to see some more movies done like this and feel that maybe the reason why they havnt been done is because of the risk of exposing which keepers keep what and where their located etc.

I was thinking that maybe if the Tours and details given were done by a single person not advertising who owned the collection or where they were located people may be a little more forthcoming with having there aviaries filmed.

What do you think, would you consider allowing a respecticable or known member film your aviaries and give away your tips? ;) ......

Prerequisites of the film and presenter would be -

- Someone that is not monotone and has a sense of humour.
- Laid Back Presentation, maybe a beer in hand ;)
- Present Aviary Construction
- Present Birds Kept and direction of what they wish to keep.
-Present Nutriton offered by owner.
- Present inventions they have implemented in their birdkeeping.
- Present their seasonal preperation and how or if they cycle their Birds

any other suggestions......and who can we get to do this?

Cheers
Luke

Hi Luke,

A mate and myself are planning on doing things like this.

We are almost ready to release our first DVD - which is specifically about how to produce live food.

The website isn't quite finished yet but has a pre release promo of the DVD we are doing:

http://AvicultureProductions.com

I will post when it is finished.

Any comments welcome

The promo looks good Ray. Best of luck with it. Keep the forum informed. Just a couple of questions, slightly off Luke's original point. Graham Pollard on his website says that pollard is better for maggots than bran is. And do you need to get the queen when you put your white ants into the plastic bin? Any forum members able to help?

Hi Finchbreeder,

You can certainly use pollard or other meal varities. Tony (the presenter and finch breeder) has been using standard bran for years and hasn't seen any of the egg binding problems - it may also be to do with the suppliers quality of bran that is purchased? - I would imagine that could vary greatly.

With the white ants there is no need to collect the queen - the plastic bins are just used for storing the white ants until used.
