hi just wondered if any people from inner sydney area have gouldians? and how hard they are to keep and breed ?I have just got zebras to try and would love some gouldians .the pet shop man says they are no harder than zebras and should be fine but looking at net it seems they are more difficult..how do people in sydney keep them,do they need a heat lamp ?can they live with zebras? Im just worried I might just bump them off if the net articles are correct...Id feel awful to kill them !!!!.I would appreciate any feedback...

The most important thing is make their home draft proof. And read all the threads on here about Gouldians. There is lots of information on here about them.

hi..thanks,not sure how to do my location.Im in inner sydney, tempe if that helps.I was looking at some of the gouldian posts and it looks like they vary .It was interesting to see that some people can get them to breed in a cage. That may be worth a try make a big breeding cage as we get very strong winds here sometimes.even if they dont breed as long as they are alive and happy that would be fine!!!!.

hi mick..thanks for that,im not great with computers..I have been looking through all the old posts and found some good ones on gouldians that answer my question..now I will have to ask my pet guy where he gets his from as It seems they can be kept in canberra ,much colder than sydney,as long as they are from an outdoor avery so I will look into that and also prepare a nice big breeding cage for them.I think I had better wait a month or so too till weather warms a bit...thanks for sugestions
