Hello all,
I am located in Upper Coomera on the top end of the Gold Coast. I am having trouble finding a good variety of finches from our local stores, they only seem to have zebras or unsexed chesnuts & owl faces. I'm keen to buy a few gouldians again or african fires but cant seem to find any. Does any body know a private breeder near here or perhaps a good store to try? cheers

Hi. There is a sale this Sunday starting at 10 at the Mudgerraba showgrounds. The last sale I went to there didn't have a huge range of finches but there was enough to warrant a look.

I and welcome. Double bars (owls) and Chestnuts are great little finches and provided you get 4-6 will settle in and breed well. However hopefully you will be able to get what you want at the sale Gary kindly let you know about.

Probably the best pet shop for finches on the gold coast is Pet Barn, Nerang they are not the cheapest place but sometimes have some nice birds in there and the good stock moves fairly quickly. They don't have many Gouldians in there at the moment but it's not really the best time of year for them as breeders are waiting for youngsters to colour up before selling them on.jpandkt08 wrote:Hello all,

The Queensland Finch Society has a finch Auction on the 12th September in Brisbane there could be some nice birds there.
