after two years and enough eggs for an omelet my pair of st helena's finally got it right. was actually planning to get rid of them later this year, but not now.
two young birds fledged this morning.

I'm sooooooooo jealous! I haven't even convinced mysef that my snake has gone and I want some. Of course it's a dream I can't get them here and I've never had anything that needs live food to raise young. Would you like to share your secrets?

well there are now 3 of the little guys, cant even manage a look into the nest with the mirror its stuffed so full of coconut fibre.
did find another nest with 3 or 4 young gouldians in it, week & a half old maybe.
and another nest with a couple of babies in it but god knows what they are. cant see them well enough to even make a guess, havent seen any adult birds going there at all either sat & watched for half an hour.
