Don't be annoyed, gray babies are just as nice. You are sure to get some whites and some penguins as well too, so a bigger mix is a better thing! ;)

I seen pictures of your birds on the "members finch photos" category and I was just judging by the background.

I've had gray offspring before and I will still be happy if indeed there are some in the clutch, but I am more excited for CFW's or Penguins. They will be my first.

ahhhhh I see. We've moved since then, so the new one's going up soon. I had some baby zebs recently too. All whites, adorable hand tame ones...

Parent reared, but I held them every day while parents sat on my shoulder. They were also very tame.

That's awesome. When you say soon do you mean in a couple of minutes lol the reason being is it's getting pretty late where I'm at. Also, I think that's cool that you have such a great connection with your birds.

My camera's a bit stuffed so will attempt tomorrow once my dad's looked at it.

Yeah, I enjoy having contact with my birds. I have a hand tame King Quail (you probably know them as Button Quail) who when I give him meal worms will take them from my hand and then give them to his hens before eating any himself

quails or zebs?

Zebs had one pair bred 12 in a season. all whites & blues.
Then the hen died. the cock was passed onto different forum member & hasn't bred a chick since!! just shows how much they have to be able to choose their own mates.
quails bred 19 in one lot. very very VERY easy to breed!

I was talking about the quails wait 19 chicks at once! woah.

Well I think that is right about zebra because when my original pair had a clutch of two they were so happy. Then, they started another clutch to soon due to me not taking out the nest and she died. I replaced her with multiple hens but he never really showed interest anymore. As for my penguin male that I have now he didn't seem very happy with the gray female I had with him in the beginning, once I replaced her with the CFW female and he seen her for the first time he was beeping and singing with joy and within an hour or so they were already preening each other then I knew they were the perfect match. ;)
