Ive got dandelions coming up to flower and milk thistles beside the neighbours house , was wondering if anyones finches eat it and do you need to maybe break it up or crush it coz mine wont touch it .
Parrots love it though .

mum always fed her canaries the thistle. the stuff i got round here gets covered in afids and straight in to the aviary it goes , the cbans love then and so do my wrens .......pete

Thistle flowerheads covered in aquids or not. The canaries, cubans, javas, love them.

Thistles or scotch thistle is the favourite of the european goldfinch.There isn't any where I live so I feed a lot of dandelion heads and it might be a suprise to some as my strawberry finch will eat it as well.
Hey, I put a whole thistle (no roots, I'm not that good at pulling weeds
) in on Saturday and the whole thing has vanished!
though, some of the leaves have been dragged around into the nest, ;) I could only find one leaf lying around when I cleaned them out today
