strange droppings

Today found about 6 enormous droppings full of undigested seed in an area where my emblema spend a lot of time on the ground in the sun. Not sure that they're definately from them but my female is looking slightly fluffed up and spending a lot of time in their nest lately. Anyone any idea of the cause and should I be concerned?

I had this in a pet budgie years ago, it was malabsobtion due to panceatitis (or similar pancreas disease). No cure, he kicked on for a good 18 months after it first started. Not much to suggest, but was told by a vet excessive amounts of protein can increase the affects of pancreatitis or even kill.

Thanks for that VR1Ton If that's what it is there's not much I can do to lower the amount of protein she (assuming for now that it's her) receives as they're all eating the same food. Hope It's not pancreatitis as it's a pretty awful disease. Just had another thought.. what about AGY (Megabacteria) is that a problem in finches??? Have seen the end stage results in native parrots and It also causes absorption problems. Am I worrying too soon?

Are you thinking Coccidiosis? My aviary's got a cement floor and the rain doesn't come in so although they spend a lot of time on the floor it hasn't been wet through winter. Do you think it's worth a try?

What is the best treatment for Coccidia? We have sand floors that are damp in the rain so thinking we should regularly treat the birds. Redwing, hope your bird improves soon. You are not having a good run at the moment, are you?

What is the best treatment for Coccidia?

I treat all my sale birds and new arrivals with Coxi-vet just add it to there water supply to alleviate onset due to stress . When wet weather is about for all my aviary birds I use Turkey crumbles mixed in their soft food it has a coccidia treatment in it as well as antibiotics,but don't use it all the time as immunity will develop and if they do get sick ordinary antibiotics won't work.

trying not to hijack the topic, but we are talking about poop
Was talking to another birdy person the other day and they said one of their birds looked a bit off, sort of a damp vent and largish yellowish poops, I didnt have a clue what could be wrong or how to treat it other than a broad spec antibiotic until further investigation to narrow down the complaint. Any ideas that I can pass on?

Without seeing the bird sounds like Cochlosoma with the yellow droppings.Birds can be treated with Flagyl S for a few days is normally fatal in fledglings.
