Hi all iv got these insects which look like scorpions ( they have 2 pointy spikes at back) I know they are not scorpions but don't know there real name. Anyway they crawl in the nest boxes & seem to be always around 5 or more . How do I get rid of them. Could these pest infect my birds from breeding...

Quail will eat them. So if you have quail just tip them onto the floor. And if you don't you need some. :D Would think some of the insect eating finches would also go for them. What do you keep?

Gardeners get the earwigs by putting a plant pot stuffed with straw on a short stake. The earwigs are drawn to spend overnight in there, then its just a case of destroy or give to the quails, mine love them.

Roll up a newspaper & put it near were they are, they like tight, confined spaces so crawl in, then just throw the paper in a sealable bag or burn it. I had a lecturer when I did my degree, who had one crawl in to a very unmentionable spot, went to go to the toilet & got bitten. After that he went to bed with a bandaid ocer the end of it. Don't know which would be worse, the slight chance of it happening again, or ripping the bandaid off every morning.
