pellets

So with the quality of seed here being very ordinary I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on pellets as a staple instead of seed .
I had my h/reared quarrions on a pellet diet years ago and honestly couldn't stand the smell of their poops ( and they were HUGE), took an age to get them to eat the pellets too.
Just curious as to other peoples thoughts.

I tried finch crumbles for a while. I didn't really persist with them because I was too worried that they weren't eating enough of them, every time I put seed (sprouted or normal) that were ravenous for the seed.

Anyway, they now always have crumbles in with them and I see them picking at it occasionally
