At times bags of dirty seed get out,it maybe their dust extraction system needed cleaning or the bottom of a silo with the trash mixed with seed.
Your best bet is get on the tail of a bigger breeder who buys in bulk and get your bag when they order.
There are 5 breeders who buy when I get my seed in, they get the same rate as I do as well as very cheap freight. It doesn't worry me as long as we get pallet lots to spred the freight costs.
I have purchased seed off the same person for over 20 years and he looks after me inparticular wiyth the freshest seed.
Why don't you give Ted Mc a call and see what he does.He is an old hand and should have the right info.

Found Avigrain in 20kilo bags however when I asked how long they had been on the shelf the salesperson said ages , it wasnt a good seller and the most popular mix was from healthie bird company ( Takari seeds in Toowomba ).
They showed me the seed itself and it looked good , was always being sold and new stuff going on the shelfs often and the birds seemed to be happy with it , didnt seem to be sifting through it to find what they want so it looks like a winner so far .
Bag had no dust and very little husk when sifted through fingers ... Anyone heard of it either good or bad ?
