No jay its the dregs from the mouseproofing ( still a work in progress ) the wire is mesh given to us from a mate who pulled down his aviary , no I dont think Ill bother painting it either it looks pretty good as is .
Thought about a pond but opted for a bird bath , easier to clean .
This is how it looked right on sunset , all the outside is done which leaves more mouse proofing , putting batts and an inner wall in enclosed area , laying gravel around the edges of the aviary , perches , plants , food station , bird bath and lastly a removable second roof made from shadecloth for when it gets hot .
Oh did I mention birds ? No birds till I look at it for a while nice and clean ...dont want to see all that hard work get pooped upon straight away.

More pics tomozz after I move 1 tonne of river gravel .MAYBE lol

Looking good, this time next week you will be out there on a chair with a coffee (or something stronger) watching birds.

Yes true Di , I can reclaim the back deck which is now looking like a Bunnings depot , then fire up the BBQ with a nice wine or a cold beer ...is gonna be awesome.

Good job Deb, been thinking of lining mine with villaboard to insulate the housing a bit, like you have with the ply.

Villaboard would look better , we got the ply for nix so used it . Makes a huge difference to the temp in there .
